The DC Machines Lab consists of a set of generator and DC motors and is fed from a main control panel with a continuous voltage of 220 V for the generator and DC motors. The electrical machines in the laboratory are equipped with the capability to directly measure various performance quantities such as torque, efficiency, etc.
The Electrical Circuit Lab students can create their own electrical circuits and do measurements on it. In the circuits the students can use resistors, capacitors and coils. The circuits can be powered by a AC/DC power supply or batteries. There is an ammeter, voltmeter, wattmeter and an ohmmeter. There is also a version of the Electrical Circuit Lab in which data can be collected.
The control systems Lab students are exposed to the basics of control systems. The operation and characteristics of several control system components like compensators, controllers, error detectors etc. are studied and analyzed. Students get hands-on experience in understanding the functioning of a few control systems, including ac servomotor, dc servomotor, and synchro pair. The lab also enhances the coding skills of students. It enables them to analyze and understand the response of a system through hardware experiments and via simulation.
The AC Machines Lab facilitates various experiments related to AC machines like induction machine, Synchronous machine etc and is fed from a main control panel with a continuous voltage of a single phase alternating voltage of 220 V and a 50 Hz frequency with three-phase service feed with 410 volts The frequency is 50 Hz.
The Power Electronics Lab is equipped with various modules for characteristic curve analysis of power electronic components (viz. diac, triac, thyristors and UJTs) and experimental setup of converters, inverters, choppers and etc.
The main aim of the Electrical Measurements Lab is to provide the practical information regarding the various principles involved in electrical measurements and testing. Students are allowed to conduct the experiments on various working principles of measuring instruments. This lab is conducted for the undergraduate student’s typical measurements applications & introduction to error analysis and applications to laboratory measurements.
The Project Lab is basically developed for subjects who require software simulation like Electrical drives, Power System, Control System, MATLAB and Simulation. Lab is equipped with various high end computers loaded with various simulation softwares. UG/PG students can use this lab for their project/research work.
